On Meaningful Coincidence

It’s not completely fanciful to see “synchronicity” as a sort of qualitative gravity — where things and events of similar substance are drawn together — to converge in time and space. It’s also no wonder that particularly dramatic events would have an even stronger “pull.”  It often takes the imagination of a writer or artist to discern the patterns and connections between things. To more practical minds, such things appear mysterious and magical. To the mystical and imaginative mind, synchronicity is just part of the natural order of things.

Before the  cataclysm of WWI, a host of artists and composers depicted fragmentation and dissolution that ultimately crystallized in the tangible events of society in upheaval.
